The MEP & Shadow Minister for Education and Employment Therese Comodini Cachia visited the NSTF Science Expo 2016 in MCAST, Paola, where she had the opportunity to meet with students who explained their projects to her, as well as with the various local and international science communicators present at the Expo.

To mark European Science Day for Youth 2014 NSTF organised a number of school visits in the industry with the aim to encourage more students to study science and subsequently progressing onto a degree in science.

Hon. Evarist Bartolo, Minister for Education officially opened the NSTF Science Expo 2014 taking place at the Institute of Applied Science at MCAST Paola. He had the opportunity to visit the several interactive workshops being organised by foreign science communicators and the research projects conducted by primary, secondary and post-secondary students.
The project of Melvin Zammit, winner of the NSTF Contest for Young Scientists programme, investigates a new way to display 3D images. It is based on the idea that if more than one transparent image is put in front of each other, a 3D image forms. This concept could be applied in 3D modelling, in gaming, 3D telephony, in hospitals and many other applications that require a realistic volumetric display.
